Our "Humanity Before Vanity" Policy: When matting is present, it is not always possible or humane to save length. Mats trap moisture and pull on the skin, causing pain or irritation. In these cases, your dog’s comfort will always come first—even if it requires a shorter haircut than originally planned.
Similar to a poodle; requires the most frequent brushing.
A common texture that tangles very easily.
May shed less but are still prone to matting.
Rounded faces and fuller legs for that signature look.
Low-maintenance options for active, outdoor lifestyles.
Designed to maintain coat health through changing weather.
Doodles should be professionally groomed every 4–6 weeks to prevent matting and maintain healthy skin.
We recommend brushing at least twice per week, ensuring you reach all the way to the skin.
Longer styles are possible with consistent at-home brushing and a strict 4–6 week professional schedule.
If matting is severe, shaving is often the most humane option to prevent skin irritation and pain.
All Doodles at Collars and Clippers are groomed in a calm, one-on-one setting with individualized care. I am happy to guide you on brushing techniques and schedules that best suit your dog's specific coat.
